Lake Area Industry Alliance’s Southwest Louisiana Women in Industry is an organization that coordinates a forum meant to inspire and encourage female students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math related careers. The mission of SWLA Women in Industry is to showcase the many career opportunities that exist within the industry.
Scholarship Information
The Southwest Louisiana Women in Industry Scholarship application is open to senior high school seniors progressing into a STEM-related field of study, or those who plan to use their education for industry support roles. Examples include but are not limited to, Engineering, Process Technology, Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, and more. These funds will be used to cover the cost of tuition, books/supplies, and room and board.
Scholarship Selection Criteria
- Must attend the SWLA Women in Industry Forum on March 5, 2026
- Female high school senior pursuing higher education in a field of study that will lead to a STEM-related career, or a career that will support industry
- Grade Point Average (GPA) minimum of 3.0
- Letter of Recommendation from a nonrelative
- Community involvement
- Must graduate from a high school in Calcasieu, Cameron, Allen or Beauregard Parish
