Sasol's Lake Charles Chemical Complex, located adjacent to the city of Westlake, Louisiana,has six manufacturing units situated on approximately 400 acres. The primary products of the complex are used in the cleaningand personal care markets to manufacture ingredients for soaps, detergents, shampoos, locations,cosmeticsand more. The complex also manufactures specialty chemicals used in mild abrasives, thickeners and pharmaceuticals as well as in the enhanced oil recovery markets.

With the first unit starting up in 1961, Sasol's complex has more than 50 years of history in our community, providing quality jobs and excellent products. Currently, the complex employees approximately 400 locally and an average of 200 contract employees. The complex includes a state-of-the-art research and development facility, which located to the area in 2004.

Sasol employees are active members of our community and donated countless volunteer hours to area non-profit and religious organizations. As a group, Sasol Volunteers rebuild homes, teach people to read, provide science education projects to children and cleanup our waterways. Employees and the company also work together to donate more than $300,000 a year to organizations such as the United Way, local educational institutions and the arts.

Sasol's local complex is poised for significant growth in Southwest Louisiana with plans to more than quadruple the size of the existing facility in terms of both space and employment between now and 2020.
